Who is Ahnsahnghong?
January 19, 2023
In the World Mission Society Church of God, we pray in the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong. Some may not understand why, just as the Jews did not understand why the early Christians prayed in the name of Jesus, rather than Jehovah.
Throughout the ages, to receive the name of the Savior has been a matter of salvation. The name of God is very powerful and very important. When we trust in and pray in the name of the Savior according to the age we live in, that powerful name brings salvation to God’s people. Let us understand why Ahnsahnghong is the name of the Savior given to us in this age for our salvation.
Three Ages of God’s Redemption Work – Ahnsahnghong, the Savior’s Name in this Age
Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens
God’s work of redemption is also carried out according to time, that is, according to the age. In order to give us eternal life, God divided 6,000 years of His redemption work into three ages and gave us a different name for the Savior in each age.
Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
God told us to baptize people in the “name” of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. It means that the Father has His name, the Son has His name, and the Holy Spirit also has His name. The name of Father is Jehovah, and in the Age of the Father God carried out His work of salvation with the name of Jehovah. The name of the Son is Jesus, and in the Age of the Son God carried out His work of salvation with the name of Jesus.
Then, what is the name of the Holy Spirit? The name of the Holy Spirit is Ahnsahnghong, and in this Age of the Holy Spirit God carries out His work of salvation with the new name of Ahnsahnghong (Rev 3:12).
Age of the Father – Name of the Savior is Jehovah
Joel 2:32 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord [Jehovah, ASV] will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, even among the survivors whom the Lord calls.
In the Age of the Father, whom did the people have to call on for salvation? Salvation was promised to everyone who called on the name of Jehovah as their Savior. It is repeatedly emphasized in the Old Testament that Jehovah was God’s Mighty name through which God’s people could be saved. Furthermore, the prophet Isaiah said as follows.
Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the Lord [Jehovah, ASV], and apart from me there is no savior.
In the Age of the Father, who was the Savior? Jehovah was the Savior, and He let us know that apart from Him (Jehovah) there is no other Savior. Since the Bible teaches that salvation is promised through the name of the Father Jehovah, and that Jehovah is the only Savior, then why do so many people not pray in the name of Jehovah as their only Savior? Why do so many believers pray in the name of Jesus as their only Savior?
We no longer pray in the name of Jehovah because we do not live in the Age of the Father. But for everyone living during that time, without exception, salvation came only through the name of Jehovah who was the only Savior. Then let us see what happened when the age changed from the Age of the Father to the Age of the Son.
Age of the Son – Name of the Savior is Jesus
Acts 4:8-12 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them….. “Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Peter spoke these words when He was filled with the Holy Spirit. He boldly proclaimed that Jesus was the only Savior, and that salvation was found only in the name of Jesus.
These words were spoken by Peter, a man who received Jesus Christ as his Savior. But before Peter and the other disciples received Jesus, before the ones who received Jesus Christ wrote the New Testament, they only had the Old Testament Scriptures. When Jesus walked the earth, and when the early Church began to preach, there was no New Testament Scriptures, because it was written by those who received Jesus, after Jesus left this earth.
During that time, the Old Testament Scriptures emphasized, again and again, that Jehovah was the only Savior. Apart from Jehovah there was no Savior. That mankind had to call on the name of Jehovah for salvation. Nowhere in the Old Testament does it tell us that Jesus is the name of the Savior. During that time period, before the New Testament was written, Peter and the early Church members were proclaiming the name of Jesus as the only name through which salvation could be received.
Why did they believe that? It almost appears as if their preaching contradicts the Scriptures. But that’s not the case at all. It’s because they received Jehovah who appeared in the flesh, with the name of Jesus. They understood the time period they were living in. As the age changed from the Age of the Father to the Age of the Son, the name of the Savior changed from Jehovah to Jesus.
Matthew 6:9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name
Jesus taught us to pray to the Father. As it says, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.” Jesus taught us through this prayer to honor the name of the Father as holy, to revere and honor the name of Jehovah.
During His three-year ministry, not only Jesus, but the disciples also continued to pray in the name of Jehovah. If Jesus prayed in the name of Jehovah, and the disciples prayed in the name of Jehovah during the time Jesus walked the earth, why did they eventually start praying in the name of Jesus, and proclaim His name as the name of the Savior?
John 16:24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
This scene was on the night of the Passover, right before Jesus was arrested to be led away and crucified. Jesus spoke these words right before He died on the cross the following day. These words were spoken at the end of His public ministry. What did Jesus say here? “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.” What does until now mean? Until that Passover night, they had never prayed in the name of Jesus, not even during their three years with Jesus. He never taught them too.
However, at the end of His three-year ministry, Jesus is telling them to now ask in the name of Jesus. To now pray in the name of Jesus, so that they could receive what they asked for in prayer. Do you think it was easy to accept this command? It could not have been easy to accept this instruction. But for those who recognized Jesus for who He really was, for those who understood that God appeared in the flesh and accepted the name of Jesus, that faith and decision to begin calling upon the name of Jesus brought them salvation.
Age of the Holy Spirit – Name of the Savior is Ahnsahnghong
Then what about us? We neither live in the Age of the Father, nor in the Age of the Son. We live in the Age of the Holy Spirit. In these last days, what name has God given to us for our salvation? Let us confirm that in this Age of the Holy Spirit God has given us the new name of Ahnsahnghong!
Revelation 3:12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.
Who is the speaker here? Jesus. And what did He tell us regarding His name? That He would appear with a new name. Then, can His new name be Jehovah? What about Jesus? No. Jehovah, or Jesus, would not be a new name. It must be a new name He has never used before.
How important is this new name for God’s people? God’s name is of utmost importance! To receive this new name is a matter of salvation for God’s people in the last days. Then, who will this new name be given to? Let us see.
Revelation 2:17 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.
The stone in the Bible represents Christ (1 Pe 2:4). The one who is a stumbling stone for some, but a cornerstone of faith for others, is Christ. Christ is the stone. For anyone who does not receive this white stone, who is Second Coming Christ, they will not receive the new name of Christ. The new name will be given to and known only by those who receive Second Coming Christ. Then, who has appeared in these last days, fulfilling all the prophecies of Second Coming Christ? It is only Christ Ahnsahnghong (Jn 5:39)!
It is by the name of Ahnsahnghong through which salvation is now given. Although He is a stone many builders reject, He has become the capstone. Salvation is found in no other name, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
We must realize the age that we live in. Until these last days, we have never asked for anything in the name of Ahnsahnghong. But as God has come again in the flesh, what are we to do with this new name He has brought us? Let us receive the new name and ask in the new name. When we receive the new name of Ahnsahnghong, we will be given the right to become children of God.
Isaiah 52:6 Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.”
God’s people will know God’s name. We must learn from the example of the early Church members 2,000 years ago, and have that kind of faith. Actually, we should have greater faith. 2,000 years ago, they had never experienced God changing His name before. Jehovah had always been God’s name up to that time. But we can look at what took place 2,000 years ago and see that God has changed His name before, and He was prophesied to do so again in these last days. That He would appear with a new name (Rev 3:12).
Furthermore, in the days of the early Church, they only had the Old Testament. But we have the Old Testament and the New Testament. They only had the Old Testament prophecies that led them to First Coming Christ. But we have both the Old Testament and New Testament prophecies that lead us to Second Coming Christ. We are so blessed!
John 5:39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me
As we have seen through the Bible, we must know the new name of the Savior in this Age of the Holy Spirit so that we can achieve the goal of our faith, the salvation of our soul (1 Pe 1:9). Then, how can we know come to believe in and accept the new name of Christ Ahnsahnghong? We can know it, and confidently accept it, only through the Bible.
Please come to the World Mission Society Church of God where we are eager to carefully study the prophecies of the Bible with you so that you may learn about the Savior in this Age of the Holy Spirit, who has come with the new name of Ahnsahnghong, so that we may all call on Jesus’ new name and be saved!
