Bible Prophecy of Jesus’ Second Coming
Many Christians are aware that the Bible says the second coming of Jesus will happen on a cloud. They are taught that when He comes on the cloud He will take His people to heaven and the judgment day when the world is destroyed will occur at the same time. To say the second coming on the cloud and the last judgment are done at the same time however, is contrary to the Bible. Let us see about this one by one.
Luke 21:27-28 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
In the above verse Jesus was telling us about His second coming. He said he would come in a cloud when redemption is near. Redemption here refers to heaven. This means heaven is very close when He comes at His second coming on a cloud. Furthermore, He didn’t mention anything about His people entering heaven, destroying this earth, or appearing to judge the world either. He said, ” stand up and lift up your heads”, which means to prepare for the kingdom of heaven is near.
By these two verses alone we can see the Second Coming of Christ cannot be the last day of judgment when God’s people enter heaven. In other words He comes a second time to earth in the cloud when the last day is very near.
Also at His Second coming we will “see” Him come, however at the last judgment it says we will know nothing. This means the second coming and the last judgment are completely separate events.
Matthew 24:36-39 But about that day or hour no one knows, … For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Also, when we see the verses about the last judgment day the way God appears is completely different as well.
Isaiah 66:15-16 See, the Lord is coming with fire, and his chariots are like a whirlwind; he will bring down his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. For with fire and with his sword the Lord will execute judgment on all people, and many will be those slain by the Lord.
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
The above two verses are referring to the last judgment day, they say when He comes on the last day He will appear with fire to judge and destroy. This is completely different from the verses regarding the Second Coming of Christ.
The Reason for Jesus’ Second Coming
Then why does Christ come a second time to this earth before the judgment day? It is to prepare His people by restoring a true faith.
Luke 18:8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
Jesus who is God knows all things and doesn’t need to ask us anything. What Jesus was doing here was emphasizing He wouldn’t find faith at His second coming. Faith is absolutely necessary for God’s people to enter heaven. The reason He appears a second time, is because he would come to restore true faith to a faithless world.
Jesus knew that in the future the truth of the New Covenant He established at His first coming, such as the New Covenant Sabbath and New Covenant Passover would be abolished. During the dark ages the Sabbath was changed to Sunday worship in 321 A.D. and the New Covenant Passover was abolished in 325 A.D.
Daniel 7:25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.
The New Covenant was completely changed by Satan who doesn’t want us to receive salvation and follow what Jesus established and the early church kept. This is why Jesus said He would come a second time to restore the truth and gather His people to His true church once again.
Matthew 24:29-30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Restoration of the New Covenant
Jesus said when he comes a second time He will gather His people. According to the Bible, the place where Jesus gathers His people is Zion.
Micah 4:1-2 In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
This is a prophecy for the last days when heaven is near and ”He will teach us His ways” is referring to the Second Coming Christ who will teach us in Zion. The Second Coming Christ appears, gathers us to Zion and teaches us the truth of life allowing us to have true faith.
It is very clear from the words of the Bible that Jesus Second Coming and the last judgment day are completely different events. The Second Coming of Christ must first happen to restore true faith and prepare God’s people for heaven at the Last Judgment.
Who is the Second Coming Christ that has appeared before the last day and gathered His people to Zion to teach us the law of God once again? It is Christ Ahnsahnghong. Christ Ahnsahnghong is the Second Coming Christ that has taught us all the truth of the New Covenant again in Zion. He has brought us the Sabbath, the Passover, all the feast and regulations of the New Covenant again in these last days. Let us receive Christ Ahnahnghong and the restored truth of salvation He has granted to those in Zion.
